Our beloved B&B Package first opened on October 17, 1969 when Buck Bledsoe and Bidge Shelley first opened their doors as the first liquor store in Kingsport. Nestled in a strip mall on Fort Henry Drive with an appliance shop, beauty parlor and men’s barber at neighbors, they served and delighted the community for 21 years. In 1991 Thomas Carter purchased the store and started cultivating a different community.
He worked diligently to curate a unique shopping experience, rare and unique spirits and coupled with his expertise and charm he was (and still is) adored in the community and beyond. Thomas became one of the most renowned bourbon dealers in Tennessee. Not only did he treat every customer like family, but he also gave back to the community through his philanthropic work at every opportunity. Eventually, with hard work and dedication the store expanded and took up the space of the whole plaza, leaving it where it is today with it’s bright yellow awning guiding you in.
In July of 2023 Thomas Carter retired and with careful thought sold his beloved business to Rafael Zabala & Martin Bagwell, prominent restaurateurs, to carry on serving the community and bringing unique bourbons, wines, and spirits to the next generation of passionate enthusiasts.
